St Michael's Church of England Primary School, Sandhurst - welcome to our website

Rights Respecting Schools Award

We are becoming a Rights Respecting School. To find out more about what this means, follow this link:

http://www.unicef.org.uk/tz/teacher_support/rrs_award.asp

We've been celebrating the 20th birthday of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. A flag came round to every school in Bracknell Forest. Edward and Caitlin signed it on behalf of St. Michaels to show that we are committed to the UNCRC.

Mrs Butler-Willis and Miss Einchcomb took two children from our school to Easthampstead Park Conference Centre to commemorate the occassion. We then had a picture taken with the birthday cake and the Mayor of Bracknell Forest!

Here are Ellen and Oliver standing around the cake!

Children have been developing their own class charters enabling them to demonstrate their 'rights' as well as their 'responsibilities'

Here are the class charters for Year 4 and Ducklings. Every class charter is unique for each class and teachers have to agree and sign it also!

The children have given it a lot of thought and have also been finding out about the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

You can find out all about it by clicking on the above link or looking at the leaflet attached below.

Upcoming Dates:

Thursday 24th September - Lunchtime meeting to set up an RRS steering group involving members of the St. Michael's community.

See Miss Einchcomb in Year 4 for more information.
