St Michael's Church of England Primary School, Sandhurst - welcome to our website

Safeguarding - Everyone's Responsibility

We have a collective responsibility for the safety of the children in our school.  Mrs Butler-Willis is the designated safeguarding/child protection officer and all staff have been trained to look for and report signs of abuse, which can be physical, sexual, emotional or of neglect.

We have a duty of care and are obliged to report such concerns.

If you are concerned about anything you see or hear about one of the children, you can ask to see Mrs Butler-Willis or any member of staff to share your concerns.

The Local Authority designated officer is Mairead Panetta.

We follow the Berkshire safeguarding procedures. There is information for parents on the website: Safeguarding

If you think a child is being abused and are not sure what to do about it, read the Local Safeguarding Children Board cue card here

If you help in the school regularly, you will be expected to undergo a Criminal Records Bureau check.  Until this clearance is received, you will need to sign a risk assessment form and follow the measures on it.
